Thanks for Listening. I have the pleasure of playing music. There’s no money in
it for me… but it’s something I “have to” do. For a number of years, I’ve enjoyed sharing my passion
with other musicians around the world. The internet has made it easy for
people with common interests to find each other… and music is no exception. Harmony Central’s Guitar Forum and Amp Forum provide a
great opportunity to listen and appreciate other musician’s style and ideas.
One way is through what are called “jam stickies”. The basic idea is that someone will post a “backing
track”, a recording of drums, bass, and maybe a rhythm guitar or keyboard…
but with room for a “solo” on top. Each player can download a copy of the jam, play and
record their solo and add it to the track, then post it back up on the site
for the others to listen to. It’s amazing how much variation there is in each
player’s ideas, tone, and skills as a player and a home engineer. I’ve collected many of my recordings, and posted them
here. Have fun exploring them!
